Transportation of animals
Following information applies for all flights operated by the Austrian Airlines Group
Pets in passenger cabin
Under following conditions and subject to a charge cats and small dogs may be taken into the passenger cabin:
passenger and pet must be booked together
the animal is transported in a leakproof petbag or kennel during the whole flight. The kennel or petbag must meet the max. hand luggage dimensions of 55x40x23cm/21,4x15,5x9in and the max. weight of 8kg/18lbs (including the pet)
max. 1 pet is allowed per passenger except the animals know each other and are transported in the same container (above mentioned conditions must be observed)
For partner dogs the above mentioned rules do not apply. The respective conditions for partner dogs you find here.
Please note that many countries have special requirements concerning the import, export and transit of animals.

Pets in the baggage compartment
Meeting following conditions and subject to an excess baggage charge pets may be transported in the baggage compartment of the same aircraft the passenger is traveling on:
passenger and pet must be booked together
the pet must be transported in an adequate container with sufficient water and food. Please ask at your booking office or the Austrian Airlines CallCenter under +43 (0)5 1766 1000 for the resepective container requirements for your pet.
