PIECE CONCEPT U.S. & CANADA FLIGHTS
Piece concept is transportation type, where number of checked baggage is restricted. This procedure is applied to/from United States of America and Canada.
Passengers, who arrived from a flight which piece concept is applied, have the right to continue his journey according to piece concept procedures. But;
- Piece concept is applied for the passengers holding a combine ticket, even the journey starts or ends with a Turkish Airlines' domestic flight.
- Piece concept is not applied, if the passengers have different tickets for domestic and international flights.
Allowance
- 2 pieces of baggage are considered as free baggage allowance.
For C/Cl passengers;
- Each piece must weigh max. 32 kg.
- Sum of the 3 dimensions of each piece must not exceed 158 cm.
For Y/Cl passengers;
- Each piece must weigh max. 32 kg.
- Sum of the 3 dimensions of two pieces must not exceed 273cm.
For Infants;
- One piece, for which sum of the 3 dimensions must not exceed 115 cm., and one baby stroller.

Parts of firearms (except telescopic parts used for aiming)

Spears and spear guns
Stun guns and shock devices
Gun-shaped lighters
B- Pointed Weapons and Sharp Objects
All types of sharp and wound inflicting objects
Axes and hatchets
Arrows and darts equipment
Spears and spear guns
Mountaineering equipment (hammer, ax, hatchet, etc)
Ice skates
Blades, pocket knives, folding knives of any kind
Any kind of object made of metal or other hard material that can be used as a weapon
Razors and shaving knives
(except disposable razors and cartridges)
Swords, daggers and their cases
Surgical blades and knives (lancet, scalpel etc)
Scissors with blades longer than 6 cm.
Ski poles and climbing sticks
All kinds of martial arts equipment
All carpentry equipment that may be used as a weapon (drill, saw, screwdriver, hammer, etc)
C- Sports Equipment
Baseball bats
All kinds of hard or flexible sticks or bats
Cricket bats, golf clubs and hockey sticks
Canoe paddles
Skateboards, billiards/pool cues
Fishing equipment
D- Explosive and Flammable Material
Ammunition and gun powder
Explosive capsules
Fuses
Explosives and explosive devices
Replicas of explosive materials
Mines and explosive military equipment
All kinds of hand grenades and bombs
Gas and gas tanks
Fireworks
Strike anywhere matches (matches that can be lighted on all surfaces)
Flammable liquids
Spray paint
Paint thinner and turpentine
Liquids/drinks which contain more than 70% alcohol
E- Chemical and Toxic Materials
Acids and wet batteries
Corrosive material (bleach and similar bleaching materials)
Self defense gases/sprays (pepper gas, mace, etc)
Poisons
Infectious and biologically hazardous material
Self igniting material
Fire extinguishers
F- Material inappropriate for transportation
Explosives, hand grenades, mines
Gases: propane and butane
Flammable liquids containing gasoline and methanol
Flammable additive materials and magnesium containing reactive materials
Fireworks and flares
Bleaching and organic peroxides
Toxic and infectious materials (rat poison)
Radioactive material (medical and commercial isotopes)
Corrosive material (mercury and vehicle batteries)
System parts which have contained fuel in the past
6- Exceptions
Objects and materials not mentioned above but which are determined by local security officers as unsuitable for cabin baggage, may also be added to the above criteria.
